Gentle, broke, and built to go any direction: meet Ouzo, a 7-year-old Argentine Criollo/Hanoverian cross gelding with a heart of gold and the kind of disposition that makes you look forward to saddling up.

We originally sold Ouzo two years ago to one of our repeat buyers, where he spent his days trail riding and earning his keep as a go-to mount. When his owner recently relocated and couldn’t bring him along, we were more than happy to welcome him back home.

Ouzo is trail-proven through creeks, woods, and thick brush. He’s comfortable working around cattle and knows a real day’s work. He rides bridleless, responds well to leg and seat cues, and can lengthen into a nice long trot or settle into an easy jog to match your rhythm. He stands tied, cross ties, ground ties, and trailers like a pro, with excellent manners both in the stall and out in the pasture.

Ouzo is the kind that makes our job easy. He’s level-headed, eager to please, and safe for a wide range of riders. Sure-footed outside, responsive in the arena, and always a gentleman on the ground. He’s the ideal size for riders who don’t want to climb a mountain, but still want substance under the saddle.
